RTP Media Manual Installation
Prerequisites
- Windows 2003 or Windows XP Pro with latest service packs (2003 Strongly Encouraged)
- 2.0GHz CPU installed
- 2GB RAM
- .Net 2.0
- Administrative Privileges
Install
- Install Media Proxy MSI
- Optional - Install Configuration Tool
- Launch Configuration Tool
- Configure Listen Port (typically 4096), Password, Max Connections, Local IP, Allowed Sip Proxy Connections (which IPs are trusted to send commands)
- Save Changes and exit Configurator
Go to command line: Start -> Run -> "cmd" -> enter
Type (change path to where installed to): sc create "Remwave Media Proxy" binPath= "C:\Program Files\REMWAVE Inc\MediaProxy\MediaProxy.exe"
- That should have installed the service into the Service Controller.
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administration Tools -> Services
- Verify Remwave Media Proxy is a listed service. Alter its properties to start automatically, and restart after any failures
- Reboot machine
After the system comes back online, Media Proxy should be running. You can check this in the service manager to see if it is started.
Logs / Events
Remwave Media Proxy will log events to the systems Event Log Viewer. Start -> Control Panel -> Administrator Tools -> Event Viewer -> Application
Logged events include:
- Failures
- Sip Proxy Connections
- Startup / shutdown
Performance Monitoring
For a helpful debugging aide, from the Performance Monitor (Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Performance) snap in, you can add a "Remwave Media proxy" counter to monitor used bandwidth (in/out) and cumulative Sip Proxy bandwidth used since Media Proxy started.
