REMWAVE ITSP Installation Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the REMWAVE ITSP Enterprise Edition Guide!

As your company will progress and grow, so will the needs and demands of your customers. For many, this can be a very disorganized and chaotic area of business to face. REMWAVE ITSP Enterprise Edition is designed to handle all your ITSP demands as a central point to do everything from providing support though a ticket system, billing clients, to maintaining a platform for setting up carriers, gateways, and establishing prices to individual countries. The complete software package will also assist in administration or monitoring of your core servers, staff members, and office locations. This guide is designed with you in mind as we walk through each section and use screenshots as examples of what to look for when configuring and getting started. Detailed descriptions using “Side Notes” are to help you understand and use your software and services efficiently and effectively.

A brief history of the REMWAVE ITSP Enterprise Edition started as a model developed several years ago for the REMWAVE sister company Nikotel. It was from here that further interest and development made this complete ITSP solution modular and portable to any other company that wishes to incorporate Voice over Internet Protocol, or, VoIP technology to their everyday company needs and startup their own ITSP solution with a complete tool kit that will get the job done right the first time.

* Basic knowledge of computers and networking required to setup this software.

Before Getting Started

This guide is meant to install all components on a single Windows ® platform; for other scenarios, please visit the advanced usage page. The following list is the basic minimum requirements:

The following are not officially supported:

Getting Started

After ensuring you have met the above requirements, you can continue to this point.

The first step is to install the Deployment Manager. This can be accomplished easily enough by double clicking on the RemwaveInstallerSetup.msi installation application. You must accept the license agreement, and determine the path location you wish to install the Deployment Manager to.

Once you have successfully installed the deployment manager, you will have several items added to your Program Files -> All Programs -> REMWAVE Inc group. Some links, some documentations, and a couple shortcuts to start/stop services. However, to do anything but read the documentation, you must first run the "Remwave Deployment Manager" program.

  1. Start up "Remwave Deploymen Manager": Start -> Program Files -> All Programs -> Remwave Inc -> Remwave Deploymen Manager

  2. You must agree to license terms and conditions to continue
  3. Be default, all components are selected to be installed. This is the recommended approach (check here for other scenarios) - any Remwave components already installed will be in the right list, where you can uninstall or attempt to repair an installation.

  4. After desired items are selected, simply click on the Install button.
  5. Answer the questions:
    1. Hostname - a resolvable host name (will be used to configure various services such as IM and SIP realm)
    2. Local IP - IP of the local system
    3. Database Password - use only letters (mixed case is fine) and numbers. This will be used to create two DB users: billing & calamar set to use this password, so you should be able to remember this password (if you have to install any other components or admin the DB, you will need this password).

    4. Allow IIS to restart - to properly get ASP.Net installed, IIS has to be restarted in a certain manner, you should allow it
  6. Review component list and added dependencies
  7. Select "Install" to proceed.
  8. Monitor installation for any questions it may have to ask you along the way or for any errors
  9. After everything is installed successfully, you get a message box informing you of the status.
  10. Reboot the system

Wrapping it up

Congratulations! This completes the REMWAVE ITSP Enterprise Edition evaluation version installation. Hopefully, everything went smoothly. If not, please raise any issues with <insert here> so we can make future installations that much better.
